Hatching Baby Chicks
Hatching baby chicks does not always go smoothly. One common problem can be that fertile eggs still end with chicks dying in their shell. With later investigation it is found that the shell will peel away from the inner skin because as it has become so dry and tough and that toughness is what has prevented the chick from being able to hatch. If the shells are too hard and tough they need artificial moisture – this can be true of eggs under hens as well as egg hatched in incubators.
